A fatal wrong-way collision happened on Tuesday morning on U.S. 41 and one person has died and another suffering with major injuries.
According to reports, the incident happened between U.S. 41 and Greenwood Park Circle at around 2 A.M. in the morning in Lee County.
Investigators have identified 41-year-old Christopher Whittle from Fort Myers who was driving in the wrong direction in his vehicle without headlights on.
The other victim is 23-year-old Sandra Velasquez who was driving in the right direction, was unable to avoid colliding into Whittle. The two vehicles then collided into each other.
Whittle was unfortunately found dead at the scene.
Velasquez was taken to Lee Memorial Hospital suffering from her injuries.
