Interstate 10 Two-Vehicle Crash Kills 2 Drivers
Holmes County, FL (September 19, 2017) – The two drivers involved in a head-on collision on Interstate 10 September 17, Sunday night were killed at the scene.
The Florida Highway Patrol reported that the incident took place near the 112-mile marker.
40-year-old Christopher R. Russ, of Graceville, drove his 2009 Honda Accord eastbound on the inside portion of the westbound lane when he crashed head-on with a 2015 Chevrolet Camaro driven by a 25-year-old man, of Sundown, New Hampshire.
The FHP reported that both drivers were killed and declared dead at the scene.
The identity of the second driver has been withheld by the FHP, pending notification of his next of kin.
As of this writing, the FHP did not specify why Russ traveled the wrong way on the interstate. An alcohol test is pending.
