Orlando, FL – According to the Florida Highway Patrol, a mother was killed, a father in critical condition, and their two teenage children suffered minor injuries due to a drunk driver.
The tragedy occurred in St. Johns County on Interstate 95 near State Road 16 as the family was heading back home after driving from the Columbus vs Mandarin game in Orlando at around 1:15 a.m.
The wife, known as Cathy Adams, a sworn court bailiff, and her husband, William Adams, a JSO Officer, and their two teenagers were traveling northbound on I-95 when the driver of another vehicle, a 46-year old woman who appeared to be intoxicated, crashed into them causing the accident.
The collision caused the vehicle to rollover, trapping the driver inside, and ejecting another passenger.
Cathy Adams was being kept on life support to preserve her organs as she was an organ donor, but later died of her injuries.
The father, William Adams, suffered a broken neck and is in a critical state.
The two teenagers suffered minor injuries and were later released from the hospital.
The drunk driver has charges filed against her.
Our condolences go out to the family and friends of the Adam’s family.
These incidents where drunk drivers go behind the wheel and cause devastation to innocent families deeply saddens the hearts of personal injury lawyers from Percy Martinez Law Firm. This is known as a negligent and reckless driver who will be liable to pay for the damages that they caused.
Drunk driving is a huge factor for the majority of car accidents and wrongful deaths as a result, like in this case.
Justice needs to be attained for the Adam’s family.
