Two-Vehicle Crash on U.S. 27 Seriously Injures Bobby Gene Corbitt and Kills 1
Haines City, FL (October 30, 2017) – A two-vehicle collision Monday afternoon kills one woman and sends a man to the hospital with serious injuries.
The Florida Highway Patrol reported that the incident took place on U.S. 27 around 12:15 p.m. October 30. The woman was said to be driving a 2013 Toyota westbound on South Boulevard. As she approached U.S. 27, she failed to stop her vehicle and crashed with a northbound 2010 Dodge Avenger driven by 50-year-old Bobby Gene Corbitt, of Auburndale, who was driving on the inside lane.
The two vehicles stopped on U.S. 27.
The woman, from Kissimmee, was transported to a nearby hospital where she was later declared dead. Meanwhile, Corbitt was brought to Heart of Florida Hospital where he is currently in serious condition.
Both drivers were wearing a seatbelt at the time of the crash.
