48-Year-Old Richard Barry Killed in Hudson Bicycle Accident at State Route 52 and La Madera Boulevard
Hudson, California (February 10, 2018) – A 48-year-old bicyclist who died after he collided with a suspected drunk driver in Hudson, Pasco County, has been identified as Richard Barry, a local news source reported.
Barry was involved in an accident that happened at around 11 p.m. Thursday, February 8 at the intersection of State Route 52 and La Madera Boulevard.
As per the article, 51-year-old Michelle Axelson, of New Port Richey, was traveling eastbound in the inside lane of S.R. 52 in a 2014 Chevrolet Cruze.
As Axelson approached a green light at the intersection, Barry was riding a bicycle across State Route 52 in a southbound direction.
Barry entered into the path of the Cruze and was struck.
The victim was rushed to Bayonet Point Hospital where he was pronounced dead.
Police affirmed that Axelson was arrested of DUI and driving on a suspended license.
