Aumon Jackson Dies in Lee County Dirt Bike Accident at Lee Boulevard and Terry Avenue
Lee County, Florida (February 14, 2018) – One person died in a hit-and-run accident that happened Tuesday evening at an intersection in Lehigh Acres, Lee County, a local news source reported.
The victim has been identified as 43-year-old Aumon Jackson.
Florida Highway Patrol mentioned that the collision took place just before 7:30 p.m. Tuesday, February 13 at the intersection of Lee Boulevard and Terry Avenue.
As per the FHP, Jackson crashed into a 2006 Nissan truck that turned into his path from Terry Avenue as he drove along Lee Boulevard without lights.
The rider died at the scene.
The driver of the truck fled the scene on foot.
The truck and the dirt bike were towed to FHP’s headquarters in Fort Myers as evidence. The truck’s windshield was shattered on the driver’s side, and the dirt bike was in pieces, officials said.
An investigation into the accident is ongoing.
