Alban Bianco, Raymond Lapointe and Rebecca Hlavsa Killed Fatal Gasparilla Road Traffic Collision in Charlotte County
Charlotte County, Florida (January 12, 2018) – Three people died in a traffic collision Tuesday afternoon in Charlotte County, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.
The three victims were identified as 80-year-old Alban Bianco, of Maine, 82-year-old Raymond Lapointe, of Michigan, and 73-year-old Rebecca Hlavsa, of Port Charlotte.
The fatal incident happened at about 4:45 p.m. Tuesday, January 9 at the intersection of Gasparilla Road and Marathon Boulevard.
Troopers said that the vehicle carrying the three victims was going through the intersection when another vehicle struck them on the right side.
The driver of the car that struck the victims’ vehicle was identified by the FHP as Hugo Garrido-Cruz, 33, of Englewood.
Garrido-Cruz was reportedly driving without a valid license or insurance, and his car was also not registered. He faces charges for the three offenses.
