Man Killed in Tampa 2-Vehicle Crash on State Road 574

Tampa, Florida (November 28, 2017) – A 59-year-old Tampa man was killed on Tuesday morning in a collision involving two vehicles on State Road 574, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.
The incident happened at about 6:40 a.m. at the intersection of E Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Blvd (also known as State Road 574) and Danny Bryan Boulevard.
Troopers said Gina N. Rivera, 39, was sitting in his 2002 Chevrolet SUV at a stop sign on northbound Danny Bryan Boulevard when he attempted to make a left turn onto State Road 574 and entered into the path of a 1993 Ford Escort traveling eastbound on State Road 574. The Ford crashed into the front of the SUV at the intersection.
The 59-year-old victim was driving the Ford. He was transported to Tampa General Hospital where he was later pronounced dead.
Rivera was traveling with two young children of ages 12 and 7. The three sustained minor injuries.
