Rider Killed in St. Petersburg Motorcycle Crash with Truck on 34th Street S.

St. Petersburg, Florida (January 3, 2018) – A motorcycle collision with a tow truck killed a 55-year-old man on Tuesday afternoon in St. Petersburg, according to police.
The accident occurred at around 3 p.m. Tuesday, January 2, on 34th Street South.
Police said the rider was traveling southbound on 34th Street South when he attempted to overtake a tow truck while changing lanes and ended up sideswiping the southbound truck.
The impact caused the motorcyclist to be ejected from the motorcycle.
The St. Petersburg Fire Department medics pronounced the rider deceased at the scene.
The driver of the tow truck, Eric A. Sanford, 32, was at the scene when police arrived and was able to assist with the investigation.
