San Carlos Park, FL. – The Florida Highway Patrol states that the accident occurred early Saturday morning when a 24-year old pedestrian was struck and killed by a vehicle on U.S 41 near Sanibel Boulevard.
The driver of a 2013 Dodge Charger, Adam Torocco, 18, of Fort Myers and his passenger, 20-year old Kurt Roach, were driving southbound on U.S 41 at around 1:17 a.m. when the collision occurred.
A man was trying to cross the crossway when he was struck while Torocco and Roach were approaching Sanilbel Boulevard, stated FHP.
Torocco pulled over onto the south shoulder of San Carlos Boulevard after hitting the pedestrian, knocking him into the adjacent lane, according to the FHP.
The name of the pedestrians has not been released yet.
