Child Hospitalized with Serious Injuries in North Naples Crash
North Naples, Florida (November 12, 2017) – A 2-year-old toddler was transported to a hospital on Sunday morning after being struck by a vehicle in a neighborhood off Goodlette-Frank Road.
The toddler was seriously injured in the crash that occurred in the 7000 block of Burnt Sienna Circle at about 11:45 a.m., according to the Florida Highway Patrol.
A 50-year-old Naples woman was backing in her 2010 Chevrolet Tahoe from a home onto the street when she struck the child, who was riding a scooter.
Troopers said the child was wearing a helmet at the time of the crash but was seriously injured and was taken to Lee Memorial Hospital.
The Chevrolet driver was issued a citation for improper backing.
An investigation into the crash is ongoing.
