Sarasota County Crash on Englewood Road Sends Two Women to Hospital

Sarasota County, Florida (January 16, 2018) – Two women were injured on Monday evening in a two-vehicle accident in Sarasota County, according to Florida Highway Patrol.
The crash happened at the intersection of Englewood and Loyola Roads at around 5 p.m. Monday, January 16.
Troopers said a 79-year-old Venice woman was sitting in a 2012 Buick Regal facing east on Loyola Road at the intersection of Englewood Road when she made a left turn into the path of a Ford F350, being driven southbound on Englewood road by a 20-year-old Sarasota woman.
The Buick was struck on its driver’s side by the Ford truck.
The Venice woman suffered serious injuries and was transported to Sarasota Memorial Hospital.
The Sarasota woman also sustained serious injuries and was taken to Venice Regional Bayfront Health.
