Interstate 75 Two-Vehicle Crash Seriously Injures 2
Manatee County, FL (September 20, 2017) – Two women sustained serious injuries after their vehicle rear-ended a semi-truck on Interstate 75 Monday afternoon.
The Florida Highway Patrol reported that the incident occurred around 2:30 p.m. September 18, near the exit for State Road 70.
The release reported that a 30-year-old female driver, from Seminole, failed to stop her 2003 Jaguar S-Type in the center lane of northbound Interstate 75. As a result, she rear-ended a 2015 Freightliner Cascadia that had slowed down for traffic.
The driver and her passenger, a 32-year-old woman, from Port Charlotte, sustained serious injuries in the collision. They were brought to Blake Medical Center.
The driver of the semi-truck, from Alabama, was uninjured.
Police cited the female driver for careless driving.
