Seven Hospitalized after Fort Lauderdale Crash with Police Patrol Car on SE 3rd Avenue

Fort Lauderdale, Florida (December 5, 2017) – A police squad car collided with another vehicle early Sunday morning injuring seven people in Fort Lauderdale, according to a police report.
The crash took place at around 1:30 a.m. on Sunday, December 3 at the intersection of Southeast 3rd Avenue and Southeast 2nd Street.
Police said the driver of a Nissan Juke SUV ran a red light at the intersection and crashed into a marked police squad car.
Two officers who were in the police vehicle were taken to a hospital and treated for non-life-threatening injuries.
Five occupants of the SUV were also treated for non-life-threatening injuries.
The crash is under investigation.
