2 Drivers Injured in Cape Coral DUI Crash on Del Prado Boulevard near Cape Coral Hospital
Cape Coral, Florida (November 24, 2017) – A crash involving two cars left two drivers with minor injuries and caused a traffic snarl-up Friday morning on Del Prado Boulevard in Cape Coral, according to a police report.
The crash occurred at about 5:41 a.m. in the 600 block of Del Prado Boulevard near Cape Coral Hospital.
According to the police, Teri Branton, 35, of Cape Coral was driving a car northbound when she tried to make a left turn onto the hospital’s parking lot and drove into the path of a southbound SUV.
Branton’s car collided head-on with the SUV, police said.
Branton was transported to Lee Memorial Hospital where it was determined she had minor injuries. Authorities said Branton’s blood alcohol tested .346, which is more than four times the legal limit of .08 in Florida.
The other driver also had minor injuries but declined treatment.
Cape Coral Police said the crash caused the southbound lanes of Del Prado to be shut down as the scene was cleared.
