Toddlers Hospitalized after Cocoa Car Crash on U.S. 1
Cocoa, Florida (December 18, 2017) – Two children were hospitalized on Monday morning after a two-vehicle collision on U.S. 1 in Cocoa, according to police.
The crash occurred at the intersection of U.S. 1 and Dixon Boulevard at about 10:55 a.m.
The Cocoa Police Department said a woman driving a Chevy Impala was traveling north on U.S. 1 when she attempted to make a U-turn onto Dixon Boulevard and was T-boned by a Ford Taurus traveling southbound on Dixon Boulevard.
Two children of ages 1 and 2 were traveling in the Impala. One of them was transported by helicopter to a local hospital with serious injuries. The other child sustained minor injuries and was transported by an ambulance to a hospital.
No other injuries were reported.
Cocoa Police are investigating the crash.
