Gainesville, FL – According to the Florida Highway Patrol, a rear-end collision in Alachua County has left a motorcyclist in critical condition.
The accident took place Thursday morning at around 10:54 a.m. near Grove Park on County Road 325 about one mile south of Hawthorne Road.
The victim, 61-year old Wayne Lofton was driving his 2003 Kawasaki, was riding north on County Road 325, when 5—year old John Ruble, riding a 2013 Scion XD hit Lofton from behind for unknown reasons.
The impact caused Lofton to be throw off of his bike and Ruble’s vehicle to veer off into the shoulder and overturn, stated FHP.
Lofton was transported to F Health Shands Hospital with serious injuries. Ruble’s suffered only minor injuries.
Upon the outcome of the investigation, charges are pending.
