Davie, FL – According to the Florida Highway Patrol, a hit-and-run taking place Saturday morning at around 8:20 a.m. on Interstate 595, leaves a woman severely injured after the impact caused her car to roll over the barrier between the highway and State Road 84 in Broward County, FL.
Florida Highway Patrol spokesman Sgt. Mark Wysocky said that the victim, 32-year old Naila Brunton, was taken was taken to Broward Health Medical Center.
Wysocky stated that an unidentified driver swerved to avoid a broken-down car sitting on the highway, struck Brunton’s Mitsubishi Outlander as she headed east on Interstate-595 West of Davie Road.
Brunton was found not wearing a belt. The impact of the collision made her car roll over the barrier and into the eastbound lanes of State Road 84 after her vehicle to overturn many times.
The unidentified driver was driving a black Dodge pick-up and took off.
