Pilot Killed in Thanksgiving Day Private Plane Crash near Starke

Starke, Florida (November 24, 2017) – A private plane pilot was killed on Thanksgiving Day after a plane crashed near Starke, according to the Federal Aviation Administration news release.
The plane, a four-seat, single-engine Mooney M20 aircraft, went down on the property of Camp Blanding Joint Training Center, just east of Starke at about 3:15 p.m. on Thursday, November 23.
The identity of the pilot has not been released.
An investigation will be conducted by the FAA to identify the registration of the aircraft. The cause of the crash will be determined by the National Transportation Safety Board.
