Bradenton Woman Killed in Manatee Pedestrian Crash on U.S. 301
Manatee, Florida (December 22, 2017) – A pedestrian was fatally struck by a vehicle driven by a missing Sarasota teen’s mother early Thursday morning on U.S. 301.
According to FHP, the crash happened at around 1:25 a.m. Thursday, December 21 on U.S. 301 near the intersection of 15th Street East.
FHP said Tawana T. Spann, 37, of Tampa, was driving a 2015 Nissan Sentra westbound on U.S. 301 when a Bradenton woman stepped onto the roadway and was struck by the vehicle.
The victim was pronounced dead at the scene.
Spann was uninjured. She is a mother to 15-year-old Jabez Spann who has been missing since Labor Day.
The crash caused a closure of U.S. 301 near the intersection of 15th Street East overnight as investigators examined the scene.
