One Person Killed and Six Hospitalized after Glades County Crash on CR 74
Glades County, Florida (December 13, 2017) – One person was killed and six others hospitalized Wednesday morning following a collision involving a semi-truck and a van in Glades County, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.
The two-vehicle crash happened shortly before 8 a.m. on County Road 74 at the Glades and Desoto County line.
Troopers said a van was traveling westbound on CR 74 collided with a semi-truck.
It is unclear which vehicle swerved into the opposite lane causing the crash.
The van had six people on board at the time of the accident. One of them died at the scene. Five were rushed to a hospital, and three of them were said to be seriously hurt.
The semi-truck driver also suffered serious injuries and was taken to a hospital.
An investigation to determine what led to the crash is ongoing.
