Person Killed in I-95 Multi-Vehicle Crash in Jacksonville
Jacksonville, Florida (December 16, 2017) – One person died early Saturday morning in a grisly multi-vehicle collision on Interstate 95 in Jacksonville, the Florida Highway Patrol report said.
Three vehicles were involved in the accident that occurred at around 12:30 a.m. on I-95 at University Boulevard.
A Toyota Camry traveling on the interstate was rear-ended by a vehicle driven by 52-year-old Troy Murphy of Kingsland, Georgia. The impact of the collision caused the two vehicles to side-swipe a vehicle driven by 29-year-old Brittany Jennings, who was waiting to merge onto I-95.
Troopers said the Camry and Murphy’s vehicle then slammed into a concrete barrier.
The driver of the Camry was killed in the crash.
Murphy sustained minor injuries, and Jennings was not injured.
The crash is under investigation.
